This article is my personal opinion and experience of running about 700 km in Asics Novablast 2 hot pink/sour yuzu.

I coloured my 2021 summer runs with these amazing Asics Novablast shoes. 5 years of life in the UK taught me that you never know how the weather will turn out. I wanted a pair of colourful shoes for the UK's cloudy summer days. These were the best quality-price option at the moment of purchase.

At the same time, I chose the Asics Novablast 2 as daily running shoes because they are recommended for neutral runners seeking a responsive running experience.

Novablast 2 is a really bouncy shoe and the wide base gives it a more balanced landing while the enhanced underfoot cushioning propels you forward like running on a trampoline.

The design and Technology of Asics Novablast 2

It has a lightweight design and includes Flytefoam Blast midsole technology for an energetic bounce with each stride.

As per the official Asics' webpage, the shoe's soft and lightweight mesh upper delivers excellent airflow, keeping your feet cooler and fresher throughout your run. The outsole of the NOVABLAST™ shoe has been designed to accentuate the energized feeling of the FLYTEFOAM® Blast technology, creating a trampoline effect that propels you forward. The NOVABLAST™ model is higher off the ground than most running styles, promoting improved comfort over long distances.

The colour

The vibrant colour palette was also a buying criteria. I feel more energised wearing running gear. The brighter and lighter the colour, the more happy and optimistic it makes me feel.

Asics Novablast 2 On the Road

When I go for runs I often see other runners in Asics, and a few but a noticeable amount in Novablasts. My daily runs are on road and the Asics Novablast are a good fit for the road and easy runs.

Asics Novablast has a very effective outsole design. I hadn’t experienced any injuries in all 700 km of running with Asics Novablast. The rubber grips well in wet conditions, and when you pick up the pace, the shoe grips the road like claws.

However, for rainy days I prefer to run in GTX running shoes.

Check my other blog articles for running in wet and cold conditions.

Asics Novablast Cons

The only thing I need to mention that I didn’t like at Asics Novablast 2 is that the tongue had a cheap, scratchy feel. If I wore thin socks I could feel quite uncomfortable, so I fixed the issue with a different type of running socks.

Stay tuned for my next review for running in Asics Novablast 3. This might take few months as I'm just starting to test them.
